Maru Garcia has been acting and directing for over 30 years now. She has a Bachelor’s in Art from UNAM in Mexico City, specializing in directing. During her artistic career, she has had the opportunity to lead and manage Grupo Bochinche in Mexico City as well as The 73rd. Avenue Theatre Company in Westminster, CO and The Wheat Ridge Theatre Company in Wheat Ridge, CO. Maru has participated in more than 100 plays as actor and/or director. She has also had the opportunity to act in a few films and some TV. Her latest projects have been Drive-thru plays where the audience sees the play from their car by driving through the different scenes.
Play: Housekeeping - Five women with different backgrounds confront an unusual situation when they discover weapons in a room. As we learn about their lives, this unique find prompts them to take diverse paths towards a solution. The play is set to be presented in a unique format in which the audience sits in the middle and the action happens around them.

Minna Lee (they/she) is a writer and performer residing on Duwamish Land. Their short stories and poetry have appeared in Bricolage Visual Arts and Literary Journal, You Flower/You Feast, and Call Me [Bracket] Literary Journal. In April 2020, Annex Theatre produced their play, One Horse Town, as an audio drama. They are currently working on a new claymation film involving portals, mental illness, and sword combat. Minna holds a B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Washington and serves as the Marketing Coordinator at Theatre Off Jackson.

Pho restaurant owner, Lan, is thrilled when her restaurant starts pulling in hoards of customers thanks to the help of a marketer named Vera and the blessings of their ancestors. Lan's loyal worker, Mai, however notices some very strange things and begins to question - Is any of this real? Meanwhile, Mai's co-worker/they sort of hooked up, Beau, has discovered a new secret power.

Anna Pellegrini is an Italian writer who has moved to London in 2019 to attend a Master in ‘Playwriting’ at Royal Holloway, University of London. While in the UK her short play Goldfish has been staged at Theatre 503, she has collaborated with many creatives on various productions part of new digital stages such as the Virtual Collaborators Festival, Scratching Night, while writing stably for the recently formed Peripeteia Theatre Company. Anna wants to explore language and representation processes as creators of meaning and of identities with a writing style that often shifts between different forms.

Maddox Pennington (they/them; he/him) is a nonbinary writer, professor, and stand-up comic from Washington D.C and the Cherokee Nation. They received an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Columbia University and their debut bibliomemoir, A Girl Walks Into a Book: What the Brontes Taught Me About Life, Love, and Women’s Work was published by Hachette Books in 2017. Before moving to LA, you could find them performing comedy all over DC, including the DC Drafthouse, Joe’s Movement Emporium, DC LGBTQ Comedy Fest, and almost every Busboys and Poets back room. A Zoom version of their play Love Chicken debuted in the virtual 2021 Pittsburgh Fringe Festival.
Play: ANNEX is a dark comedy about family, growing up, and mental illness. Elliot, despairing of being able to manage her symptoms effectively, concocts a mystical miracle cure--Belinda Carlisle, a nefarious bowl of pink light--that turns her panic and indecision into manic focus. As she struggles with dangerous side effects and her new notoriety as the neighborhood oracle, her teenage son makes her question the reason she wanted this cure in the first place.

Madalina Oprisan (Simion) is a writer who lives and works in Bucharest. She is passionate about long-form non-fiction journalism. Her work was featured in DOR magazine, Marie Claire and other Romanian magazines. She is interested on how story and personal narratives can change and connect us.
